The Max Kade Center collaborates with campus, community, national, and international partners to promote teaching, research, and programs that explore migration from German-speaking Europe in European, transatlantic, and global contexts. The Center supports KU's international initiatives by welcoming students, scholars, artists, educators, and other guests from around the world and providing opportunities for cultural exchange and engagement.
This website is an ongoing collaborative project. Christian Beer, Coordinator, Media, Outreach, Recruitment, Events, and Development for the School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, takes most of the photos used on this website. Student Assistant Claire Hammack, Lead Graphic Designer for the SLLC and a Design major, creates the buttons and other graphic elements using Christian's photos. Kate Ragland, M.A. candidate in the Museum Studies Program, made invaluable contributions to the website's function, design, and content. Christian Beer and Steven Kinder, Technology Coordinator, CLAS Web Support Group, built the site and continue to address technical issues.
