Max Kade Center for German-American Studies

Founded in 1968, the Max Kade Center promotes the study of the German ethnic presence in the United States and migration in its transatlantic and global context. The Center is committed to facilitating exchange among students, faculty, and University units; members of the Lawrence community; and visiting scholars and guest lecturers on topics related not only to German immigrant culture in the United States but also to broader issues of migration (historical and contemporary) and German-American relations. Furthermore, the Center seeks to make its collection of archival and published materials available to students and scholars.
