Mission Statement

The Max Kade Center for German-American Studies, in the German Studies department, promotes the study of German-speaking migrants and their descendants in global and multidisiplinary contexts. The Center does this by:
  • supporting interdisciplinary research
  • curating our significant German-language archival and print collections and making them available to scholars
  • sponsoring programs for the university and wider communities that explore German migration
  • creating opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to engage with German-American studies
  • working with campus, community, national, and international partners to fulfill our mission.
