Ernst Moritz Arndt Collection

Ellen Kelley, a descendant of Ernst Moritz Arndt (1769-1860), donated items from the family’s collection of materials related to Ernst Moritz’s son Hartmuth, who migrated to the United States in 1855, and lived in Wisconsin, Mississippi and Florida before settling in Kansas, to the Max Kade Center including 21 letters written by Ernst Moritz Arndt to his son Hartmuth Arndt (1824-1876) and a collection of 51 cartes de visite / photos.
